Trash

What has greater use:
the trash that sits in the can and never moves,
or the trash that rolls about?
you see we
are all disposable beings
you see we
will all reach the end of our days
like red plastic cups and plates
like Styrofoam cartons and papers bags
bleached white against the will.
So I chose to roam,
To fly, float and flutter on the breeze
and fall yes, fall far and fast
and be stepped on
and run over
and squished.

I have no more value than the next paper bag,
we are all trash.
But I am far more interesting.
